Black Carbon Monitor AethLabs microAeth® AL30

The AETHLABS microAeth® AE51microAeth AL30 is a portable and accurate Black Carbon monitor that provides real-time data. It is ideal for air quality monitoring applications in urban and rural environments.

The Black Carbon (BC) is a form of black carbon found in particulate matter in the atmosphere. It is produced from the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels, biomass and other materials; BC is a major pollutant that can have a negative impact on human health and the environment;

Incorporates the same Aethalometer® measurement technology that has been used around the world for over 30 years. It is a self-contained instrument with built-in pump, flow control, data storage and battery, designed for personal exposure monitoring.

The instrument can operate continuously for up to 24 hours on a single battery charge. The air sample is collected in a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filter media. The filter media is housed in an easy-to-replace filter strip for simple handling in the field.

Can be used for measurements of cooking stoves, tobacco smoke exposure, as well as on airplanes, trains, bicycles, UAVs and weather balloons.
